i am trying to bleed the brakes on my '66, but i cannot get the left rear to even flow fluid. i am assuming the bias is turned off to that line. any other ideas?
Unless you have a bias adjuster built into the brake system, none came standard from Porsche. The 1966 brake system is a basic one - brake master cylinder, a couple of distribution blocks, metal pipes and rubber hoses. If your rubber hose to the left rear is over 10 years old, I'd start by replacing it (and others if same age). Over time, the hoses can swell internally, constricting the flow of fluid. If the hoses are newer, then I'd look for a crimped metal line.
I have not even checked my manual, and I'm sure Bill is correct. But my 72 FIAT spyder had a proportioning valve. AS the rear wheels lift the valve shuts of the flow to the rears, thus it was required to never let the rears hang during bleeding.
