Red face CIS mystery! Step right up!

Hey folks. I've got a good one for you...
I had hard start probs when warm - NO rest pressure. Usual suspects : accumulator or check valve. But check this out:
I did the pinch test (at the accum inlet line). MIRACLE ON 31st Street! the pressure didn't drop, not during or after releasing the line! I rode around and wow - good as new 15 min+ pressure remaining. I figured pinching pushed some dirt out of the way?

I went to fill up my gas tank, then a little highway and back home. No good. The pressure (control pressure) dropped to zero after a 3 or 4 sec stop at 20 psi, like before.

Any ideas? I'm guessing a check valve that sticks, or then again accum ? How do I differntiate between the 2?

Darn, I already started bragging that my car auto-repaired itself. <img src="graemlins/icon501.gif" border="0" alt="[icon501]" />
Thanks

the CIS plate could be sticky so you are loosing your fuel pressure when it is off. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

Plate seems fine... also, I can lift it & purge the system when hot, and it starts. BTW, I pinched again, and it now keeps the pressure, but I am sure as soon as I ride, it will go out again. help!

do you think it is a fuel or electrical problem?? Maybe you have a bad relay or ground?

not electrical, It's ether the accumulator or the check valve. I will try other tests to try to figure out wich one it is. I'll let you know,

AS SOON AS IT STOPS SNOWING!!!!! <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />
