Default 930 Spoiler Delete anyone - Pics please?

I'll be picking up a 930 widebody (turbo look) Cab in a few weeks.

Anyone on here have similar and deleted the rear tea tray?

Would like to see some pictures of your car if you have done the above.

Cheers

I have seen a few cars done this way. I believe it was even an option from the factory but Norbert can confirm.

I actually like the way it looks on a Cab. It gives it a speedster appearance. IMHO, the only variant in which this configuration works is on a Cab.

When looking at the car w/o the rear spoiler, it give the car a much lower, wider appearance.

If I had an M491 Cab, the rear spoiler would be gone in nanoseconds.

I understand both sides. I do like a car that retains originality with a few 'twists', and I think it could potentially look really good.

I guess at the end of the day I can always put the tea tray back on.

However it all depends how easy, cheap it is to do in the first place.

Is it just a matter of taking the tea tray off and perhaps giving the rear engine cover a good detail or maybe even a repaint?

Why would you go and do that?

Since there will be holes in the engine cover I would recommend you source a new/used engine cover and than just replace the entire unit this will also make going back to the spoiler super easy as well.

Good idea Marc.

Are engine covers the same for both narrow & wide body cars?

Pretty sure it was NOT done on 930's, but for the turbo look it was called option 470....I used to have a ton of links to pics, but my computer crapped out on me and lost them. I love, the look, you can google T/L option 470 and find a few of them.

This is my car, spoiler delete....its an aftermarket. The true spoiler delete cars have a different front spoiler setup as well.

Deleting a spoiler sounds easy....BUT, unless you get a new decklid, you will need to fill holes from the old decklid and get a grill.....doing both of these will be quite a bit of money. Best bet is to get another decklid and grille.....then again, if you have a turbo, I'm not sure the intercooler will work decklid other than turbo style.

Then of course, there is the ultimate (IMO) look...Jack Olsens.
