I checked into this a bit and am convinced that the difference, at minimum, is the diode used in the red relays to prevent what I call relay chatter (back EMF force),..I'd replace all/any BLACK relay with a red one.....an improvement, for sure. These are usually associated with a solid state circuit driving it, thereby protecting the solid state driving componentry from back EMF forces (which can destroy SS components).

As to different current ratings, I dunno' 'bout this,..just yet......
