Post metal protection

i am stripping my 76s to bare metal.it has to be done. i have to do it piecemeal. i don't
want to prime piecemeal. is there any product that will protect the galvenized metal until
i get it all stripped.i thought of wd-40,but i don't want a petro based product. something
that washes off with soap and water would be ideal! i want to prime all at once. thanx

the galvanizing protects the metal. you would want to wipe it down anyway with a metal prep solution, wash it in water, dry it well, and use a metal etching primer like DP90. then do your body work over that.
