I'm not sure what you mean by this:

Do you mean that the metal flip up gas door won't open when you pull the release cable, or do you mean the actual gas cap that screws down onto the filler neck?

If you mean the metal flip up door on the front fender, you can use a string or a shoelace and feed it under the flip up door towards the rear of the car and you should be able to catch the release spring and open it. When you catch the spring, pull towards the front of the car.

If you mean the actual cap itself, not sure what to suggest. Hopefully someone else will know.

Do you think it's cross-threaded and jammed? Maybe a honking big pair of channel lock pliers to get a good grip on it?

I wish you luck on getting the cap off.

I thought you were going to say "use heat", i.e. "blue wrench"

Maybe a small squirt of Kroil or PB Blaster (aerosol can with the flexible long tip) on the underside of the cap where it meets the filler neck? Might loosen things. It's things like this that drive you crazy.

Good luck with this.

I wonder if the filler neck can come out. You might have an easier time working on it at a workbench.

id sure be taping off that area well around the body .... to protect it maybe even tape on some blankets

then i would get on of those small bench top vice with the 2" jaws and grab a hold of that cap with it.. then turn the whole vice ... what ya got to lose really.

I would think that in a worse case scenario, the filler neck assembly would be removeable ... i had my fuel tank out a few weeks ago and it didn't look like much to remove the filler neck assembly !

Hopefully the fender doesn't have to come off as well ...

Cheers !
