Help ID-ing a vin
Hello all. Any info you guys could give me on VIN# 9117211492 would be great. I have a buddy who has asked me to list it on Ebay and I want to be as accurate as possible. It is a nasty creature (as far as 911s go...) that will need a bucket of cash put into it- but the price will be right. Here is a photo: look for it under "carnut169" on Ebay. Thanks for your help!!

VIN 9117211492 is a 1977 911S USA Targa, number 1492 of 2747 total built. The engine is a type 911/85 (if manual transmission) and should be in the range of 6270001-6276041. If it has a Sportomatic, the engine is a different series of numbers. BTW, all US 1977 911's were the "S" model, which means nothing for additional excitement, unlike earlier years. Specs were 165 hp@5800, 235 nm torque@4000. Has an 8.5:1 compression ratio, weighs 1195 kg.
