Default Painted Fuchs - Unique?

Hi everybody,

My 86 3.2 (915) has "champagne" painted Fuchs and I wonder if anybody else has this option.
The build sheet indicates that the 16' rims are painted "champagne metallic with white surrounds". The white surround, which used to be on the outer part of the rim has mostly gone now.
I've owned the car for close to 10 years and never seen this on any other 3.2s.
It's different than the SC Weissach.

I'm the third owner and the 1st was Mike McLoughlin. Maybe the Nascar driver, or a guy with the same name!!!

I'm thinking of restoring the car, but I like its patina...great driver, which gets used for great drives...

I know it sounds cheezy but I occasionally drive modern exotica (Maser Grand sport, DB9) and it's the 3.2 that wins hands down in my heart.

I've seen these on a couple of other cars, special edition models, but the cars were lighter in colour as well. They look very cool on a darker car, nice look.

Love the road pic. Wish I could go there and drive. Where is it?

Nice wheels. Would look perfect on my pewter car

Default 85 Sunroof Coupe

Here is my sunroof coupe with the original "gold metallic" wheels. I haven't seen another with these wheels around the Northwest. Unfortunately with all the reds in the picture the wheels get "washed
out.

Love the color of the wheels! I also understand how it's taken your heart. My C2S is on trickle charge in the vacation home garage and Targa home base. Not to take ANYTHING away from my 997.2 C2S, which is phenominal, but one can only truly appreciate it at high speeds. When I am on a parkway, I simply own it and slice thru it, like a hot knife thru butter. At low speeds , it gets boring. The classics excite you from the turn of the key, it's you, your *** and the road!

I've seen the color of the wheels on the Weissach (sp?) edition too. I like them as well so if you get them refinished be sure to keep the white lips!
