Post 993 option codes

I'm looking at a 993 with options 220 (locking differential), 224 (ABD) and 241 (short shift) among others I more fully understand (like a sunroof). I read about ABD and it seem to work with the locking differential, but is this LD the same as what is usually called "limited slip"? Also, I assume the short shift is about a 30% reduction in lever throw?

It also has option 718 which is "S program VIN change". Anyone know what this refers to?

Option M718 tells us that your 993 was the previous years model and has had the VIN changed to relect the next years model.
ABD and your locking differential are essentally an electronic locking differential. Mounted in the diff is a differential lock, which when activated, locks both rear wheels together. Another word for this is traction control on the rear only,
