Search button is still your friend.

I've got the Bend Pak mid-rise, it is awesome for a 911. I wouldn't buy anything lower. I can go up about 4 1/2 feet. Best tool I've ever bought.

I have the same one as Ed. I really like it, but the "MaxJack" looks cool...

I have a snap on mid rise lift. Great tool. My ceiling is quite low so it suits my needs.

Crazy, if you have the ceiling height think about a 4 post, while your car sleeps for the winter it can be up/out of the way/safe from dings and you can detail the underside!
This is why I love my 4 post direct lift. Makes my garage bigger.

Very nice. I have 11 foot ceilings. I've seen pictures of garages that have used 2 post lifts for storage. I wonder if that is even safe?

A 4 post lift's biggest advantage is for storage density.

A two post or scissors would be better for work access under the car. I'd not use a 2 post for storage.

My ceiling is a 12 footer.
I disagree with Ed about access. I've used both and the 4 post is much easier to use than a scissors for access for me. Scissors are great for brake work, better than a 4 post, but I've found I do more work actually under the car and can still do the tires off stuff easily.
Never store a car on a 2 post. Cars are made to stand on their feet/tires...not have the mass hanging suspended in the air.

Here is a pic from below...nothing in the way. I didn't move the Porsche so am standing behind and down. The black things you see center fwd are lightweight plastic drip trays to keep the bottom car clean.

Im not saying you can't do work on a 4 post, simply it is the least desirable. My point on the 4 post is that with the car on the lift, it requires secondary equipment and procedure to lift the car to get the wheels off, a necessity for routine maintenance other than oil changes, especially if one tracks their car a bit. Just about any time my car goes off the ground, it is to remove the wheels, unless I'm doing something on the motor, a rarity these days.

My comfortable roll around mechanics stool allows me to roll under and do anything I need to under the car. A scissors-type works great under a 911, anything you need to access is outside the lift itself. Also portable if needed, and non-intrusive in the garage. I only have a 3 car garage, amd don't have room for posts.

For what you are doing sounds ideal.
I do frame work etc so like the open under where I can stand erect. Sometimes I'll just stand there with a cup of coffee and clean things.....I like it under there.
