My bosch distributor on a 2.2 motor has the advance springs and weights on the underside of the breaker points plate. I want to clean and lube the weights, etc, but not sure how to disasemble. Anyone done this?

On an SC, yes. See the Pelican 'board and perform a Search on distributor rebuild, etc. Use the keyword "Warren" as well to get his (excellent) overview on this procedure.
Note, in advance, how much you can pull this shaft vertically and use that as a wear number for rebuilding (how many shims you might need to put in). Any Electrical house ought to be able to supply the correct shims. It's the new bushings (side to side play) that seem to be a bear to find.
You will need to drill the pin out of the pinion gear at the bottom to remove this gear and gently tap the shaft up and out of the dist. body proper. Be sure to douse the pinion gear with WD-40 or equiv. so that NO metal shavings get between the shaft and gear as you remove the gear.
That said, a simple cleaning can do wonders for those experiencing high idles that don't seem to come down at stoplights, etc. It will also begin to make vacuum advance/retard actually seem to do something. There is a lot of gunk in these dists we are using and cleaning them is a very good idea.
