Performance driving school recommendation in So Cal?
Hi all,
It's time to really learn how to tame my '88 Carrera, which is at TLG right now getting a new clutch, getting lowered to European spec, new Bilsteins, and a few other minor handling improvements.
I'm looking for a short course on general performance driving in Southern California with someone who really knows these older cars. I'd rather not drive all the way to Willowbrook since it will likely be more than one day of schooling. Since they're so expensive I want to make sure I go to a school that has lots of one-on-one personal instruction.
Thanks!

Get involved with PCA or POC. PCA can get you going quick in AX events, many are held at El Toro. POC is probably more track focused at Willow Springs and such. IMO, you aren't going to master a 911 with a "short course". To think a weekend event, or even a day, is too long, is folly. I'd look at PCA and sign up for a two day AX for starters. You'll get one on one as a beginning student. You'll find out how much you need to learn, and will probably get hooked.

That is not what he is looking for, or needs. Better to stay with people that know 911's for starters: PCA. One can go to the other places like this if they just want to run laps. The other side of that is safety, PCA will trump any of the for profit organizations running events.
