Default value of a 1976 911s restored targa...

Hey guys!

Well it's been some time since I have been on here and now I am returning with interest in getting back into the older Porsches.

I have ran across a 1976 911s fully restored targa.. here are some of the things done:

1. Engine resealed, new clutch, oil lines, tune up perfomed when engine was out.
2. Taken apart fully, blasted to the orginal metal and repainted
3. Interior - new (carpet, seats, etc)

What do you guys think it's worth?

Thanks!

-Paul

if you really like the car take it to your local Porsche Expert, hopefully he/she is really knowledgeable in full restorations and knows exactly what to look for so they can pinpoint the exact condition of the vehicle and the quality of the restoration. that is first and foremost...

then knowing that you can begin to assess value.

where are you (or the car) located, perhaps someone knows a place near you (or the car) that can offer such an assessment. I would expect that a detailed assessment would cost in excess of 5 and maybe up to 10-20 shop hours depending on the level of detail you need based on the cars asking price...

not all restorations are worth owning

to be clear I meant 911 expert...not Porsche dealer
cheers

Pictures tell 1000 words. It all depends who did the work, can you get all the paper work on the car. Is the engine the original one from the car? The only thing that would turn me off from this car, is the magnesium cylinder heads, which I am almost sure the 76 had. These have been known to be problematic at least from what I have read but if you know what you are getting in to it sounds like a great car.

Regards
Dave

Any suggestion based on the brief suggestion given would be futile.

I recently sold my 1976 911 S Targa that was in fantastic condition. The original MAG case was pulled and shelved. Dropped in a 1967 2.0 911 sand cast block punched to 2.7, SSI's and GHL exhaust and putting out 225 Hp. with a Blisten RSR coil over suspension, 15x7 Fuchs. Very fast early 911.

I miss not having it.

I sold it for $ 19500.

Thank you all. I sold it to a gentleman in Denver. His daily driver is a Cayenne and he never has owned a 911. He wanted a car for the weekends and to play around with beginner DE events. I think he found the perfect car.

He sends me pictures of him with the car. It could not have gone to a better home.

I still have my 930 CAB. I'm thinking about selling it, but can't think what I would replace them with.

I LOVE that Talbot 911! GORGEOUS!!!!!! A friend of mine in PCA has a '79 SC Targa in that color with brown interior.
