You're doing a good job for the community. I doubt you engineered these for entertainment (well maybe a little) but they help lots of folks do what we all talk about - - enjoying the driving experience. Great going!

OK Phil....
so what's the "weak spot"
is there a rubber "cushion" between the parts that allows too much play "slop"?
that should be easy...I will take on the challenge...but need some help getting to the finish line.

Yep,that's one of the weak spots ... couldn't believe how much slop is involved when i disconnected my transmission from the coupling !
Jwest makes a harder rubber cushion but i'm sure Ed Engineering could figure out something better !

this is surely the better set up...but at $400 its a tad over the "cheap upgrade" price point
since I dont have a G50 help me some more... does the stock unit allow any fore/aft and/or rotational adjustment or does it just bolt to the transmission.... and secondly the "front" with the two holes...they look like they just bolt up...so what is the need for a "U-joint" type coupler....does thay help keep the parts straight when they are off axis (no binding)
could be fun to think of a fix that doesnt cost $400!

Wow! Cool looking metal things! Don't really know what they do. I take it that the SC's have a problem shifting into first?

for you long time members you may Remember Ed " Ivangene"
he was great at inventing tools and better ways of doing things.
his shifter bushings were a trend setter and got us rethinking what is acceptable and what isnt
I sadly just learned that he passed away ...
Thoughts and Condolences to the family.
RIP Ed.

Wow. ☹️
I sold him his first Porsche - a 99 996. Then he wanted to try air cooled, so I straight swapped him my 86 3.2. I took back my old 996, which I proceeded to drive to >145k odo reading with its original IMS/clutch. The 86 3.2 is the impetus of his development of the shifter bushing, etc. Last time I saw him was at The Ridge a few years back.
Genuinely good guy. RIP Ed.
