Red face First 911 project: Jackport???

As you can see, my new 911 has a problem. It has been subjected to Maine roads! I haven't even had time to clean it yet! Oh well. Reading the Owner's Manual (which is pretty vague!) it says to insert the jack into the jackport (sounds like something out of Star Wars) and a black arrow showing you the general area sort of that it is located. Is it apparent when I look under the side what and where it is? Is there a flashing red light or something? Thanks for your help as I'm suppose to take my wife out for a date in it tomorrow night, Yikes!

Get yourself a jack pad from pelican parts, remove the jack hole plug and just insert the jack pad. plugs are below driver and passenger doors.

As stated above the port are in front of the rear tires. The pad shown above is a great tool, use it with a floor jack. You will find out that using the supplied jack is a little awkward...but it works.

You probably should get either or both of these: "The Bentley Service Manual" and/or "101 Projects for your Porsche 911." They cover things like, Jacking up your car, Changing the oil, Fan Belt Replacement to Rebuilding your engine. Really good reference material.

BTW, are you looking at your manual? It shows you where and how.

I have the "101 Projects" book but they instruct with using a floor jack. The manual is a little vague. Maybe it will make sense when I look at it. Thanks.

That's a hunk of metal...wish I would have seen this one before I bought the one from Pelican...which by the way works very well.

gotta say, I really like the one I got, looks "over engineered" - since it doesnt stay on the car weight is not an issue..in fact I like it big, beefy and heavy duty!

let me know how you make out with it!
