Thanks.......sometimes I feel like a slow learner on these cars, but these comments have cleared up alot of my concerns about what to spend money on and perhaps more importantly NOT what to spend money on.

If they ride bikes, I might know them. I ride my bicycle (mostly with the racers) about 250 miles/week.....pushing for 300 plus this week. But I really don't get that many names to be honest....we just go out and tear each other up and then go home.....if you ever ride bicyles, there as tuff a bunch as you guys here on this P-car board.....NO MERCY ! lol

Thanks for the kind word about my car. I often refer to it as a kind of Frankenstein, but I don't mean any disrespect to the car with the term. It's a 1972 tub with 1986 Turbo brakes, a 1977 magnesium transaxle and a 1995 engine. The suspension has a few 935-inspired pieces but also a lot of chop-and-fab inventiveness that can't be categorized with a model year.
I have no plans to ever sell it. Ever. But I dislike the increase in value for the pre-1974 cars -- because it limits the availability of replacement tubs if I crash.
How about a picture?

Well, it used to be a '73.
But that's a long story that involves a very unlucky turn.
It's like grandpa's hammer, where the head's been replaced a few times, and the handle's been replaced a few times -- but it's still granspa's hammer.
I've had the same gas filler flap since 1999.

They're not bikers. Retired by now, I believe. I believe David is an Elder in the Church of Christ. Met them when we lived in South Fork, CO. They have a summer home there.
