Steering wheel spacer for '88 911 Carrera?
Hi all,
I'm a shorter driver and would like to extend my dark blue 911 steering wheel (the classic four spoke) a bit towards me...doesn't have to be much at all, maybe 1" at the most would be good.
Is there any way to mount a spacer onto the stock four spoke wheel? I looked at the 903S option but don't like the way it would block the speedometer (not really into the offset hub for that one, especially since I'm shorter and would not want the wheel higher). Then again, since I am shorter I wonder if the blocking of the speedometer on the 930S wheel would be as bad? The other issue is that I have the dark blue interior and I don't believe there is a 930S wheel in dark blue.
Thanks!

Porsche had as an option in the 70s and 80s an "extended hub" for the 911. It adds a little over an inch to the hub - I have one and I like it a lot. It is/was the same wheel (three spoke or four spoke) but with the extension added. It is unique to the steering wheel and can't be added to a regular steering wheel.
They come up for sale from time to time, you just have to keep your eye open for them.

I have a factory 4-spoke raised hub Marine (dark) Blue steering wheel and horn pad that I removed from my '87 Carrera back in 2001. It is in very good shape and would be perfect with a light coat of spray leather dye.
I'll take $125 shipped in the CONUS. if you are interested PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send you some pics.

Which works fine with Momo (and possibly other aftermarket wheels) but not the stock 4 spoke 911 wheel.
I just purchased a Momo with extensions, but may also explore this approach: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...el-photos.html

19mm steering wheel spacer
I stumbled upon this thread a few months ago trying to find a spacer to buy for my 944 steering wheel.
Nobody seems to make one, so I had a few made up. Should fit the same style wheel in the 911.
19mm spacer, 6061 aluminum anodized black.
The gap at the top is not visible while inside the car. You really have to go out of your way to see it.
