Any tools anyone would suggest for my trip from Maimi to Maine or is the Porsche tool kit adequate?

I dont remember off the top of my head all that is in the tool kit. But I would bring a few screw drivers, a knife, duct tape, wd-40, maybe even a travel socket set from 8mm-20mm. A hammer and crow bar. A good combat shovel (I always carry one in my car in case of snow, but they have so many uses).

Then there is always parts.
rememver for every part you bring, you need tools to change it or the part is in vain.
fan belt
spark plugs
fix-a-flat
bulbs for the dash lights
oil


and lots of snacks

I think a combat shovel and snacks would cover most all situations!

Don't forget that in a 911 you check the oil level with the engine hot and running at idle.

Have a safe ride back, you're going to have a blast. I'm envious.

Yes it is! I don't go there very often myself, even though I live about a half mile away.

Thought I'd mention the oil thing, because I'm sure you'll check it during such a long drive. If you check it with the engine off like a normal car, I think it will read empty because with no oil pump scavenging oil out of the engine case and returning it to the tank, the level in the tank will tend to equalize with that in the engine and drop below the dipstick.

Since you're running 12 quarts (oil changes are about 10), expansion of the hot oil makes a big difference too - I bet with the engine running but cold oil, you'll read about a quart low.

Don't trust the oil level gauge either. When you're running at speed, it will read low. The only time it has any hope of being accurate is when you're at idle, hot oil, level surface. And even then some gauges are way off. Trust the dipstick - eventually you'll figure out how much to trust the gauge.

Enjoy the trip, I did 2227 miles in May when I bought my 928.
My only regret ... I got home to soon!
