Question Selling 911 Carrera; advice needed

Back trouble is forcing me to sell my pride and joy, pristine '87 sunroof coupe. Other than posting on the Rennlist classifieds, what other areas are there to list my car? My local newspaper isn't an option because of small city, limited circulation, etc. Thanks for any advice; it's a real beauty!

Burt, sorry to hear about your situation. I live in Atlanta, and purchased an 88 cab earlier this year. During my 3 month search, I was constantly looking at various sites on the web. Autotrader.com get's out to a large audience, and I think if you advertise, in the Atlanta Journal, the same ad appears automatically on Autotrader. You could also try the PCA Peachstate region newsletter, and Hemmings. If youy do go with on line advertising, it would be best if you could have a picture of the car with the ad, and because more than likely the ultimate purchaser may not be local to you, a suggestion would be to have 2-3 names of reputable Porsche shops in the area that could perfom a PPI for the purchaser. What are the specifics of your 87? There is a big market in Atl. Good luck, Charles

Sorry to hear about your back Burt, I've been there and it's no picnic. Hope things get better for you.

I have used AutoTrader.com to purchase a few of our vehicles. I have also sold vehicles on thier msitre with good results. Charles is right, include a picture and a good amount of pertinent info. Ads that don't are easily passed over for those that do.... Good luck.

Burt:

I also live in Atlanta, and besides the sources already mentioned, I bought my 92 C2 on eBay.

If you belong to PCA, list it both on their website at www.pca.org and in Panorama, in addition to, as Charles suggested, PCA regions around you. You can also list it on Yahoo classifieds, and other similar search engines that have free listings.
