Default Black 911 car care products

What are the best products to use on my black 88 911 Cabrio? I understand that black is not the easiest color to care for so I want to make sure I start out on the right track. I had a concours judge look at my car and he said it would rate about a "9" so I don't want to let it slip below that. Zymol, Griot's Garage? Thanks.

rejex followed by collinite fleet wax. (you have to wait for the rejex to cure for 24 hours - no sunlight)

Get a porter cable random orbital polisher - pads from griots garage.

I swear by them

There are hundreds of products available for all aspects of detailing. The forums at www.Autopia.org is where you need to spend your time with this question.

I would recommend P-100 or S-100 (the same thing). I have a black show Harley and I have tried everything. S-100 is what wins shows for me. Black is a bit*$. Griots is o.k but find the S-100 easier to get a better job. Wolstieins Raggtop protectant for your top.

ivangene: Thanks and I'm sure my wife will be excited to hear that I have another website to get lost in!

g-50: Our Lowes is closing so I'll look for a deal on a PC. Thanks.

Chuck: Thanks and see above!

911Dave: ditto!

TheMystro: Sounds like a deal. Thanks!

I'm on the north edge of Thornton, about 30 miles south of Ft. Collins. A bit too far from the mountains unfortunately.

BTW, Many over at Autopia agree that the Duragloss line of products are probably the best bang for your detailing buck. I'm a big fan of them as well as the P21S line, especially the concours carnauba wax. My 993 is black and I prefer waxes to sealants.

911Dave: Definitely know Thorton. I'd be partial to waxes also since I have not used sealants before. Sold my 928 to a mechanic in Alamosa. I will check out the Duragloss products.

Any reason you know of why no one mentions Zymol products? Maybe price or hype? Thanks again.

^^^^^^

Zymol sucks!

It is overpriced, overhyped Turtle Wax.

Don't waste your $.

JoAnne: Some very well known and respected RL's/Porsche mechanics sell the stuff so I had to ask.
