Default Heater Blower - not working...

Hi all,

I've just discovered that my heater blower is not working. Took me a while to figure it out since I had the de-code the extremely confusing climate control functions of the car...

In any case, if it's just a fuse does anyone know where it lives? I don't think it's in the front boot with all the others. I look in the engine compartment fuse area but don't have a schematic on these fuses.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

JC

Try fuse #2 in the engine compartment,
and fuse #2 on the main fuse panel in the boot.

Also, pm sent.

Good luck,

Gerry

ah its never the fuse .. the circuits are designed to protect the fuse on these things

well if your looking in the back you may have a black panel to your immediate left if it was an SC held on with a couple of wing bolts . the three fuses are under there . not sure about the Carrera.

you should just lift the lever and put a meter in the connections. it is ususally the blower that has crapped out.
if you have 12 v new blower time.

What iceman said ^^^ Or, you could pull the plug on the blower and check for 12V at the plug.

On a proper Carrera

It is contained within the yellow circle. The plug is on the LH side IIRC.

It's not because you're not getting hot air in the cabin, that the blower is toast. It could be the heater flapper boxes aren't functioning right.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...apper-box.html

In my case of not getting heat, it was 3 things that were not working:

1. heater blower was toast, bought a working one on ebay
2. the heater flapper boxes were not closing/opening
3. the cable opening and closing the boxes was stuck in the gate

Fixed them all DIY thanks to people helping out on Pelican and Rennlist
