Does anyone know what kind of gasoline is recommended for this engine? Will the ethanol levels in newer gasolines damage it?

Hk that is a beautiful Carrera!!

They won't kill it perse... but there is much debate and concern about it. My humble experience with a 78SC that had CIS was that it ran fine on everything. Leaded (it was a euro car), Unleaded, 98 octane, 91 octane, 10% ethanol.

One item to consider is just how OLD are the fuel lines in said vehicle. Not sure I would really trust 35 year old rubber lines. Might be worth the (safety) investment of replacing some of these older rubber lines.

Well my 78 recommends regular gas ( 87 Octane ) i think the 80 SC was the first to recommend high test due to the higher compression if i remember correctly . I always put Premium Shell in though because that is the only one that comes with no ethenol here in Canada .

Cant imagine the 75 would be too much different.

I have 75 That I've own going on 32yrs. and they can be expensive to make them mechanically sound. The issue with the magnesium case is major and can only be address in a engine rebuild, doing steel time certs, updating your oil pump to a Carrera oil pump and adding an external oil cooler and the updated chain tensioners along with some SSI heat exchangers, to get the longevity and performance out of a 75 2.7.

In reference to the CIS injection system, make sure that the air box is not crack at the seams, because I can't imagine it being the original air box from 1975 and check to see if a pop off valve was install on the box. Other issue with the 75 CIS was the warmup regulator, on hot days after driving your car it will not start until it cools down. You can't find a warmup regulator for a 75 911, not even on Pelican. Several years back I installed a UTCIS electronic device by Unwired Tools in place of a rebuilt warmup regulator and I have to state, it works great.

With the old CIS systems there is a risk of contamination with the ethanol in the gas today, and moisture building up in your gas tank. I been recommended to use marine Sta-Bil, but some of the resident experts may have a better alternative.

The 75, that you are considering is a good looking 911, and looks like it has been well taken care of. A 1975 911S can be a enjoyable and fun car as long as you are willing to address the mechanical issues and the cost factor to make the car reliable and enjoyable to drive.

It is a real beauty, I love the color and the condition looks incredible.

So whats the story with the car?, How did you find it , who owned it?

Where in NJ are you? There are a bunch of us in North Jersey, Rockland, Westchester, we recently had a little run up to Warwick NY, great fun !

I just moved to Englishtown 6 months ago and the house two doors down from me has been empty and for sale.

I was mowing my lawn three weeks ago and the sellers came over to prep the home for an open house and backed the car out of the garage.

My draw dropped and my wallet opened. I was in the right place at the right time, it was meant to be.

in general i have absolutely no use for brown cars. i find them boring, tiresome, and ford taurus/toyota camry bland. but i really like both bitter chocolate and sahara beige on porsches.

that's a beautiful car, and i hope it drives half as well as it looks.
