Default Performance Upgrades for 1988 Cabrio

http://s1114.photobucket.com/albums/...1%20Cabriolet/

I know I asked awhile back about performance upgrades but now I have the car. It has 65k miles and everything is stock. Kevin Wheeler of KMW Motorsports in Boca Raton, Florida will do the work. What would you do with $8-12k to spend? thanks

Tim

that looks clean.... +1 on suspension/tires... new bushings, struts, shocks, turbo tire rods, bump steer kits.... etc. Use the search, plenty info on the subject.

WOW - nice car

I would get a steering wheel, a shifter & coupler upgrade, bigger T-bars, bushings F&R, Shocks, corner balanced/ride height adjust, Big Reds, SW chip, and spend the rest on track fees, maybe a second set of wheels and tires

I like what everyone else said. Leave the engine alone (Porsche knew what they were doing when they built it) and focus on suspension, tires, brakes, etc.

"Leave the engine alone (Porsche knew what they were doing when they built it) and focus on suspension, tires, brakes, etc. "

The only sensible post about so-called 'performance' improvement.
And then take a DE class.

Suspension upgrades. Be careful how stiff you go, however, as that beautiful Cab of yours will begin to shake and rattle a bit more than you'd probably find acceptable.

I would put a nice roll bar in it as well and go do a DE with it. I perfer Cabs with rollbars honestly if they are don't nicely.

not all regions allow cabs in DE's - check first and check other clubs

Really, even with a roll bar? That is to bad! Well, you are welcome in NCR anytime and best part is you live in Maine so you have no excuse!

top of page - "user cp" - then "edit avatar"

yea, Jay. the bimmer club CDI in my area was involved in a rollover incident a few years ago. The car was upside down in a ditch and water was running thru the car. He was fine but the student went pretty mental over the deal (with the water...scared) - I thought it was a freak incident and no different then a coupe with the windows down but he made a rule right then and there...no cabs on DE's PERIOD...I am pretty sure they allow then in the PCA as I see Boxsters often -
