Selling the Carrera
I have desided to sell one of my cars. Besides listing on this forum and the PCA Panarama mag, what are some good sites to sell a very nice 1976 911 S targa? It is completely rebuilt, everything. Stephen Kaspar built the car with a modified 1967 911S sand cast block machined to accept the 2.7 heads as well as a custom four wheel coil over Bilsten set up. Beautiful car. I need a SUV for work and the room.

I think this is a beautiful 911 to look at and probably a joy to drive. HK has been talking about selling this car for a couple of years, but never states a price when asked. I don't think he's serious about selling.

No sweat Ed. Just an idea.
Personnaly, I hope HK keeps the car. I think he's put some effort into sorting it out and it's shows very well. It's the kind of car that could not be replaced unlike a silver SC, or a Boxster.

Hey HK, I have always thought that photo of your car was the exemplar of a really nice mid-year car. It sounds like a very nice car and I hope it works out for you.

If I were to sell such a car, I would think about putting it on bringatrailer.com. Too many flakes in ebay and craigslist.
But before you do so, please indicate your price? Also to confirm, does the engine block indicate a 67 S number? Besides engine and coilovers, is car stock otherwise?

The following are taken form a write up from Stephen Kasbar's letter and blueprint of the car.
1967 911S Block
Engine serial # 911 790 (790th in production)
901/06:
1991cc/2.0L, 130hp, 128tq, Bore/stroke 80/66, 9.0:1cr, Valves int/ex 39/35, Ports Int/ex 32/32, Weber 40IDA, first year for updated/revised heat exchangers
Compression was bumped to 9:8:1
Custom JE 2.7 pistons
custom SC styled ground cams
all new valves
Steel studs
machined spigots to accept the 2.7 pistons and cylinders as well as the crank, oil pump and bearings. The intermediate shaft was also modified and an updated intermediate shaft gear cut. Also sourced was a 1967S distributor and converted to a pointless system
new fuel injectors a new warm up regulator, and a new fuel head was installed as well as new fuel lines, air box, rubber seals and placed a pop off valve in the airbox. also modified the AAR and internal o-ring
The final output was through a pair of SSIs, headers and muffler. Everything in the motor was assembled and pulled back apart and checked (blueprinted). The chain tensioners were updated to the newer oil fed type the valve springs and tensioners were replaced. New valve covers, rocker arms and elephant feet and nuts also were used. All the oil lines were also replaced. When completed the motor made on our dyno 225HP and 212 TQ. This is based on wheel HP and Tq numbers arrived from a Mustang 500SE AWD with a .8- drive train loss.
Bilstein RSR coilovers, 200/300 lbs. Custom mounts were fabricated and looks factory. The ball joints, tie rods and all suspension related bushings were replaced. Ride height was set at lowered Euro spec
The clutch and flywheel were replaced (in 2007) with a Sach High performance package to support the new HP. The transmission was pulled apart and I replaced the 1-4th dog teeth, operating sleeves, sliders and syncros. Two shaft bearings and bushings were also replaced. The diff was re-measured and shimmed. The CV boots were replaced and the joints cleaned and repacked. Bulletproof.
New Targa top, All new interior, carpets, mats, door panels
Factory spare, jace and tool wrap as well as the original trunk deck and serial numbered engine block will go with the car
