Question 1997 C4 alarm

Good Afternoon
I am new to your forum. I searched but could not find a link. I would like to disable or remove the factory alarm on a 1997 911 C4 cabriolet. My brother won't drive it as he is afraid he will be stranded. It has done that in the past. He has a bathtub cab but when the Porsche club has it rallies the little bathtub gets left in the dust. He wants to drive the C4 for the rallies and the bathtub for pleasure.
Any ideas how to get the alarm out of the dang thing?
Thanks
Pam

Hi Pam, welcome to the forum. Unfortunately it's not an easy task. The alarm system is integrated with the drive block system (immobilizer) and the central locking system. To my knowledge, you can't remove the alarm system without losing your power door locks, and you'll have to have the car's ECU reprogrammed to disable the immobilizer and alarm monitoring. It can be done, but it's not likely to be cheap and it's not a DIY job.
