HarryD: It was Kurt that I spoke with at Marque and it does include all that you say. I was also given Mike's name at Stuttgart and will call him today.

Scotitude: I was told probably about 5-6 hours but they would allow for a couple of extra hours if they found anything major. I don't want any surprises either driving back to Maine or down the road.

w00tPORSCHE: Thanks for the endorsement!

Jay: I will put Mark on my list for local work. Thanks!

dont get me wrong, the purpose was not to nail down that 8 hrs is too much. its that you should get what you pay for from a qualified, trustworthy porsche tech so you know what you are buying. an 8 hr/$800 PPI from non specific mechanic is not better than the 4 hr/$400 PPI from a known Porsche guy. The P tech will give you the answers you need in the shorter period as they know what they are looking at and looking for.

SCOTITUDE: I hear you. Kurt is a P-Tech and comes highly recommended from Steve at Rennsport and Steve came highly recommended from my former 928 mechanic in Costa Mesa at Haus of Performance. I feel that Kurt will do a good job and said he will stop if the valve check looks bad. I also feel the $500-550 that he will charge is fair. Thanks again.
