I would not pound on the magnesium. Maybe file it a bit.

Good point, Rusnak,..(as I was in the hammer mode the last few days-this, of course, having nothing to do with actual hammers,..more metaphorical......however, sheeit can happen.....when in the "hammer mode").

I'll make use of a file,..then look at this again, from a JB Weld "coating"(?)....

You probably just saved the life of my shroud....."The Shroud of Porsche".....

Haha.... I have some horrific fan shroud photos if you want to see "shroud guts". The magnesium is porous and very brittle. Not easy to,work with, and prone to cracking.
