Post I see the virus e-mail but have not opened it. What do I do?
Specifically, how do I deal with this as to not infect my computer or those on my e-mail lists?

R22--Delete it without opening it. Then go to TRASH and delete it again. Finally--run your virus checker. Should be no problem.
