Not a Want to be , YES
We'll i am finally closing on my last Porsche. I should pick her up Monday or Tuesday. We finalized the deal Friday but with the Holidays we decieded to transfer funds and title on Monday.
I originaly was going to buy a 1969 911 but deceided that the car was too far away for me. Another car came by my reach due to a tragedy from a gentleman in an airplane. He was restoring a 912 in excellent shape that he purchased in california a few months back. He had the engine rebuilt and bored out plus spending another 3k on the suspinsion and brakes.
The car sounds like a VW but has good power and is light. The only thing i believe it needs is some carpet that he pulled and the hood repainted due some rust under the hood emblem (fixed with bond).
The car comes with the standard wheels of an 1968 912 plus 944 phone dials. He also installed late carrera seat <hince why the carpet is out due to weilding>.
When the car is in my hands i will post some pictures if any interested.
I look back on all the Porsche's i have owned:
1989 25th 911 , 1993 RSA , 1988 coupe 911 and 944 1989 std coupe and NOW a 912!
I believe this will be the last or my WIFE will shoot me. I orginally sold my last 1988 due to the purchase my wife BIG rock. She is not the happiest now but the deal is too good to pass up.
She wants me to wait but i know that if i wait to long i will never get another chance because of future kids.
