I did 2 this week.
on Carrera and earlier cars, you need to remove the windshield to get to the screws in the front/top edge. There are nuts at the outer edges of the dash, (next to doors), 3 above the glovebox/ashtray, all facing directly forward;ie the studs are horizontal, you can reach them all without removing any heat or a/c stuff, remove the steering wheel, all of the guages, don't unplug any wires, there are 2 studs with nuts that are vertical just behind the guages pointing down. Remove the 2 vertical nuts through the guage holes, put your hand through the clock hole, you can feel one horizontal stud just to the right of the clock, remove it here.
So, there are several trim screws in front, 5 horizontal studs, 2 vertical studs.
Have a glass guy do the windshield, then it's his problem if it breaks, but don't let him remove the aluminum trim until the glass is out, it's not like a chevy truck where you pull the trim out first to release the rubber seal.

Tools, you'll need a 1/4" 10mm deep socket, ratchet, 12" or longer extension, universal, a phillips screwdriver, and a small slot screwdriver to pull the guages out.
Book time is 2 hours on the job.
