Argy. After my exhaustively long engine-out service (another thread somewhere) turns out my 'chuffy idle' problem persists. Porsche dealer tech has been tenacious, thorough, got a 'borrowed' ECU to diagnose and it appears mine is 'dying' plus my O2 is bad. So...
Looking to get a rebuit one. Have contacted Wong, since my car 'possibly' had one of his chips from previous owner.
I've seen Vertex rebuilds at very reasonable prices, and another thread searched turned up ECU Doctors.
Any guidance, advice, sources, endorsements greatly appreciated.

The ignition stage in my DME recently failed. The independent shop I use sent it to Specialized ECU Repair http://www.ecudoctors.com/ and it's good as new. Their turnaround was quick and they offer a 5 year warranty on their work. My shop has used them before and recommended them.

Thanks guys. Went to the site, VERY nice. Called them, got George, (who had the accent of Jose) and was super helpful. Getting my 'rebuilt' ECU in the next couple days. Looking forward to it, and thanks again.

I've not had the pleasure of meeting lorenfb nor crossing his threads. Sounds like good reading though.
I will say the customer service manner at ecudoctors.com was quite good.
