Post warning lights

Can someone tell me what the light that is on my oil pressure/oil temp guage that has a circle with three dashes at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock? Is this the brake pad sensor? My pads according to my mechanic are fine. Aslo my spoiler just stopped working and the warning light came on. What are the common things to check after the fuse? My car is a 90 C/4 cabrio. Thanks

Dear Paul,
964 questions are best sent to the 964 forum. Spoiler problems are normally the open and close microswitches. These are located on the underside of the engine lid alongside the spoiler mechanism itself. The spoiler open signal comes from the PDAS/ABS control unit and the warn signal is from the pulse sender and the microswitches and controlled by the rear spoiler control unit. The 1991 models are different.

PS: The brake pad sensors will fire a warning (and have to be replaced) anywhere from 2.5mm to 2mm of brake pad thickness. If the wiring or the sensor is damaged in anyway you will get a warning as well even with good pads.
