Default AC recharge fitting is where?

Where do I do a recharge? Fitting directly on the compressor or is it somewhere else? i have one can of R12 left and want to make sure it get it right! This is for my 1987 Targa...

The high side goes to the engine lid condensor.

Fill from the low side, which comes into the pump from the evaporator in the front.

I would highly suggest a set of hoses and gauges from ebay, rather than a plain old hose that connects to the can, circa 1987. Also, you cant use R134a fittings on R12 equipment.
