I have a 1977 Carrera 3.0 and it needs a new EGR valve, anyone able to tell me if I can use an EGR valve from a later 3.2 sc?

I would have to guess yes because an SC is a 3.0 litre

'77 Carrera 3.0 isn't really anything the same as a 3.0 SC, especially in context of what's a ROW car v. US spec. (And the 3.2L cars are DME equipped engines, to further complicate things.)

Is this supposed to be an EGR valve?

All's I knows is, the 3.2 has no egr valve. I have no idea about 3.0 liter cars.

The photo isn't of an EGR valve. Which are all the same on the CA '75-'76 and 50 State '77-'79 cars. I think.

PET calls it a recirculating air valve. AFAIK, it does not connect to the exhaust as an EGR valve would.
