Question Front Tires on 17" Widebody?

Looking to either go 245/45 or 245/40 on 17 x 9 Kinesis K57's. Anyone have any input they can give me on which is the better size to go with? Car is at euro height.

Thanks!

Rod

Doubt it makes any difference. Only thing I've noticed is that bump steer is amplified a great deal the lower the profile/larger the rim diameter. And since it's pretty bad to begin with, even at euro height............

Ok, so I am man enough to admit I do not know what you mean when you are talking about bump steer. Unless you are talking about the ability to steer the car when you hit a bump?!

So you think which size is better? 245/40?!

Thanks!

When you lower the distance between the center of a wheel (and the suspension) to the ground, but do not lower the steering rack by the same amount, you will get a response when hitting a bump that will twist the steering wheel in your hands negatively. Ideally, you always want to lower the steering rack by the same amount to minimize the impact. Spacers are made to do this--added between the steering rack and pinion device and the body.

You'll be best served raising the spindles to alleviate the steering issues, IMO. The rack spacers are a joke. I'm not sure about the drop link option, though.

Hey Max, can you post a pic?! Also, is your car lowered or original height with those on?

Thanks!

Max,
Your car looks great. May I have some more photos for our database?
