Default What is this?

’86 Carrera - While sticking my head in my passenger side wheel well, I saw something that looked to be an A/C part. It was in front of the wheel and higher up, above the oil lines. It was about 8 inches long, cylindrical shaped and had a few hoses coming out it headed towards engine compartment. I searched my Bentley manual and could not find anything like it. I have removed the rest of my A/C.

Any ideas what it is? Aftermarket A/C condenser or booster?

I know a picture is worth a thousand words, but I didn’t’ have my camera.
