Congrats! And no need to get out you dental pick for detailing tiny cracks or refinishing key surrounds. Unsolicited advice is criticism.

Good luck on your new search. The 993 and the 997 are worlds apart. Drive both. I sold my 993, bought a 997 and really missed the whole air cooled packaged. Ended up getting a 88' Targa to satisify both needs.

Raw fun and dailly driver.

Default Oxidation on plastic

Just bought an 87 and the plastic is oxidized as well. What is the best way to freshen up? Would a buffer of some sort take care of it?

But $21K is tip-top dollar for this car. if you expect to even try to get this money, some interior detailing would help.

The pedal box is dirty, and the pads worn. The bare speakers in the door panels are a problem. If these were factory (unlikely), they need factory covers, if not, the door panels need to be addressed. They are expensive, and no buyer in this price range is going to accept after-market holes cut into them... so you have a cost/benefit decision to make here.

I also see lots of typical oxidization on various parts... ignition switch, door handles, etc, and seat leather is showing wear and cracks.

None of this is a show-stopper... a complete detailing of the interior of these cars is mostly a matter of time, care and elbow grease, and maybe a few hundred dollars of car care products, and replacement parts.

I've done alot of interior work on my cars, and I can tell you, this is something most owners can do, with time and care, and I think will pay off big time in presentation to a potential buyer.

Uhhh...the car appears to have been sold 18 months ago, so your input is a tad late. But wholly appreciated, nonetheless, I'm sure.

That's funny, but the content is certainly relevant, as would be the ultimate selling price. Perhaps the seller or buyer would be willing to share.

Interesting math: July 12 to August 4 = 4 days?

While we're on the topic of "fail," dude, if you'll look carefully, the post I responded to was from user "flyan", who bumped this thread from 2011. Evidently, he removed his post since it's no longer there.

Lighten up...I just thought it was funny someone was offering advice on a car sale that occurred a year and a half ago. Merry Christmas.

Batman,

the prices are silly over there. You ought to see what they ask for Lotus Twin Cam Europa's.

Yep, silly prices here in HongKong. OP's car could command around USD36k to 42k. Unfortunately, only RHD cars permitted in HK.

Not surprised it sold quickly at that price!
