Question buyer's checklist

first-time porsche buyer looking for advice.

looking at an '83 911sc. what questions should i be asking? does anybody have a buyer's "checklist", or maybe a link to one?

I'm a Carrera guy, but some problems are somewhat universal to 911's. Get service records if possible, look at oil consumption (hopefully the seller keeps a log book), check for broken head studs, look at undercarriage for evidence of "band-aid" leak fixes, get leakdown numbers and know how to read them, go over body and look for any evidence of accidnt, bad metal repair, rust.

Aw hell, just move up one year and get Carrera - and go over the same list above. Get a PPI regardless.
