This sounds like one of those "I know a guy who knows a guy who..."

"Double click" doesn't mean the relay is actually functioning, electrical contacts are closing, or you have a poor solder joint (COMMON) inside the relay.

Default coil resistance specs

Hi you mention the coil resistance readings being in spec. Do you happen to remember what those are? I just purchased one of those Silver Bosch Brazil made coils and it worked a couple of times and now car won't start again. I read somewhere that the center to outer positive post should be about 10k ohms and + to - should be about 1.8 to 3 ohms. I get 1.8 ohms on the + to - but only 6500 on the + to center. Not sure if this reading is OK or if I need to source another coil. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated

Got my coil protective cap off. Duh. That was easy. Thanks again Scott.

1. DME relay clicks on ignition. Clicks again when cranking.
2. ICV does hum on ignition.
3. Cleaned the ground in the trunk. Need to clean the others.
4. Tested the coil per Bentley instructions. Getting 12.46v when ignition on and the resistance test is in spec. (Coil is one year old.)
5. Eyeballed dist cap and rotor. Slight burn marks, but nothing unexpected due to the arcing of the spark. (Dist cap and rotor also one year old.)
6. I can smell fuel when cranking, but I have not yet fully tested the injectors.
7. Did the spark plug test and I am getting NO spark.
8. I have also not yet tested the crank sensors.

I may need to revisit this at a later time due to work and an upcoming vacation.

Next things I need to check:

a. Fuel pump to be sure it's coming on.
b. Fuel injectors.
c. Reference sensors.
d. I'll also do some testing on the pins on the DME based on some posts I saw from both RL and PP.

I am going to think of this as a learning experience...
