Default DD a longhood.

Are their any long hoods that could be daily driven reasonably? I'd assume the list would begin after '70 (new jersey) if there are any. Not so sure about reliability, atleast it would be easier to fix than a 964.

Just look at that, damn thats sexy.

Anything is possible. Other than reduction in value-why not? That is nice.

I DD'd my 73S coupe for two years. ALL original, paint-to-sample, highly opted, and ORIGINAL motor. It had never had the engine out prior to my ownership and had it's original MFI. I put about 20K miles on it from 80K to ~102K when I sold it. Did a couple of DEs in it as well. In the end it was way to nice of an early "S" to be thrashed on the street/track...thats why I sold it. It was fast, comfortable(full leather&sport seats), and held up fine to the South Carolina summers. It needed a full resto and with me doing the work was worthy of at least $30K which I didn't have. I wanted a track car and that was too much car requiring responsibility. I sold it to a fellow Rlister and it's in a preservation "bubble" in his garage after he drove it to New York from SC.
Damn I miss that car. I would buy it back if he would concede, but he won't. If he did, I couldn't afford it.
To answer your question, I would(have) DD'd a longhood. My pick would be a 72/73 coupe(has a 915 transmission). The 73.5 CIS injected cars are easy to find for the money involved. I would put a SC 3.0 and aluminium suspension under it and drive it like a taxi cab. But that's me.

I have driven my '72 911E the last couple of days, I love this car. It's fairly simple to fix compared to a 964.
