1973 911 front bumperette removal
I have a 1973 911 with the ugly front solid rubber "bumerettes". I have a replacement front deco lit to install. How do the bumperettes come off? Do I have to pull the bumper off to remove them or is there a trick to it?
Thanks,
Scott Harris

Does anyone have any advice on removing these bumperettes? I have seen the cut away pictures and it looks like they simply bolt through, but when I look for the bolts I can't see them. So, do you have to drop the entire bumper to remove the bumperettes or not?

I'm not sure if you have to, but I recently dropped my bumper to re-finish it and install a new deco, and it wasn't hard to do. Also, it was dead simple to remove the deco with the bumper removed, you would probably save time overall.

Yes, IIRC you do have to drop the bumper/valence to remove them. They are bolted on from the back.
I don't have them on my car and I most definitely prefer the cleaner look it gives the front end. IMHO no bumper guards and no front license plate is the way these early cars should be.
