Audi328, If this car checks out with an ok PPI, it would make an excellent first 911 to own. Hope it works out for you.

Just got an email from the seller, shooting for a PPI tomorrow.

The "stay emotionally detached, it's just a car" line is easier to read about than put into practice.

I'll follow-up when I know more...

Had the PPI done yesterday at an third party independent that was highly recommended by several people here and elsewhere - passed easily. In a nutshell, I was told "you're not going to find a better one", as regards a solid driver within my budget, so my almost year-long search is over!

The sucky thing (depending on how you look at it) is I'm off to Holland through the weekend, so I can't pick it up until Tuesday...

With that begins my foray into 911 ownership - looking forward to the journey, many miles, and I'll no doubt have many questions as time goes on.

Thanks to all who offered advice and encouragement, I'll be around!

If Mark says the car is good, then the car is good! Use Mark for service as he is the best with 911's hands down. Also, as you said use Rennlist and your PCA region on this fun journey you are entering! Congrats!!!!!!!

Congratulations! Good timing on a nice looking driver. The last couple of years have been great if you are a buyer. More recently, I've noticed the prices going up - perhaps partly due to season (summer, etc.) and partly due to perceived economic outlook and/or inflation. Anticipation can be just as fun as driving - enjoy both!

Congratulations! That trip away from the car will only make you that much more appreciative and enthused when you return. These old things are mighty fun, and you'll be looking for excuses to drive it, and then to buy things for it.

You did well. Great car, eyes wide open on the purchase, well priced.

Finally picked her up yesterday evening and took her straight to Mark at Exotech to take care of tires and alignment - right into the teeth of some of the worst thunderstorms I've driven through in years! (so how do you turn on the front defrost??) - we made it through fine, though, and had quite the initial bonding adventure. Was great on the highway when the weather broke, she just wanted to go - should be nice with the new rubber & alignment! Should have it back in a few days, hopefully in time for the weekend, which will hopefully be less rainy than it has been...can't wait.

Thanks again for the comments and encouragement.

That was some crazy rain yesterday! I was caught in it as well, but thankfully not in the 911. Congrats on the new ride. What tires did you get for it?

I haven't driven in rain like that for years - but now I know that the car doesn't leak water! I think I spent as much time pulled over as I did driving - a normally 40 minute trip took almost 2 hours. I went with Bridgestone Potenza RE760s.

Nice on the tires! Have you joined NCR-PCA yet? We are having an Ice Cream Run on June 9th starting in Bedford and Londonderry and ending in Nashua.

Wow, I like. I hope to find one just like your NEW 911. If one like this shows up here it will be very tempted. Thanks for sharing. I needed this info.
