Question Maday! Maday!!

Help!!! Help!!!
I was driving in to work and my 85 911 became possesed!!
Last week I installed a new clutch helper spring when the old one gave out. That seemed to work fine till today. Any hoo I pushed in the clutch and herd a little click or snap when I let the clutch out it engaged right away and felt very easy to stall the car with limited pedal travel. Next the throttle started sticking at 2k rpm and when I pressed the pedal to see what was going on it went almost to redline!!! I shut the key off before it got up there though.. I managed to limp the car the rest of the way here but am wondering what the heck is going on??
I checked the throttle cable, linkage ,return spring and floor mats and all seem to be in working order...
Has anyone had anything similar happen to them??
Please lend your input...I need your help!!
Thanks in advance!

Clutch cable jump out of the little retainer clip thingy back by the tranny and binding on the throttle rod?
