Default Oil Funnel

What do you guys do with your oil funnel after using it to avoid leaving a mess? Is there an easy way to clean it out and remove the residual oil on it?

Rather than a separate funnel, I picked up a couple small plastic valves that screw to the top of the plastic quart bottle. It has a valve you can turn on/off to control the flow of the oil. I found it to be a lot easier and cleaner. I keep one with the car and one in the garage. Happened to see them at Home Depot one day. Probably can be found in any auto parts store.

I'm at work so I can't show you a pic of what I have, but it looks something like this but with a longer funnel-type end on it to pour the oil.

What do you do with that once you have used it? Leave it on the container and use it as a cap?

I have a small plastic funnel that, after I let drain a bit, I put in a plastic ziplock bag in the frunk with the tool kt and spare tire along with my quart of oil and extra ac compressor belt.

I use a short funnel with a wide tapered end that I got at Napa Auto Parts. It's easy to clean with a paper towel before and after each use.

Exactly. I let it drain for a couple minutes, then just close the valve and leave it on.

I've got one that has a slant on the top that works great for the oil tank on a 911.

But........As long as I've had my hand steadying first drink of the day I can pore it right from the bottle

I pour the same way I drink...straight from the bottle.

Most of the gas stations I use also sell oil and offer a paper funnel. Looks like an old "snow cone" cup. When I'm inside buying whatever, they usually give me 4 or 5. Folds flat and never have to worry about a messy funnel again!

For top ups I pour from the bottle with one hand and hold a paper towel underneath with the other to catch any wayward drips.
If I'm doing a change, I use a funnel, which lives with my drain tray when not in use.
