Can somebody please help me determine the correct year model numbers of these DME's / Lambda brain. The 1st brain has two numbers on it,
0 280 800 006 and
931.617.101.00
The 2nd brain only has one number on it,
0 280 800 055

0 280 800 006 and

Dear EM,
The 931 is the 924 Turbo type or auftragsnummer. Based on the Bosch number for the second one this would also be a 924 or 931 unit. I would not recommend you use these for a 911 DME replacement.
Ciao,
Adrian

Hello
The 911SC and the 931 shared the same lambda control unit and I think early 911 SC had 931 module and later got 911 typed ( integratetet rev limiter ? ).
So that clarfys the first module, those had been used up to 1981 ( when the 944 came )
The secound Bosch number is maybe the rev limiter beside the lambda control unit.
AFIR 617 group parts had ben beside smogequipment also used on the tempomat parts.
But the tempomat control boxes are mostly 911 or 928 and have a VDO #

Okay, I went to the parts catalogue. The following information only applies to USA and Japanese versions of the 911SC.
According to the parts catalogue part number 931 617 101 00 was only used in the 1980 USA only 911SC and in the 1981 Japan only 911SC. For the USA only 911SC from model year 1981 and up part number 911 617 103 00 was used. The unit is called Electrical Control Unit Oxygen Sensor. The parts catalogue does not give the vendor part number for these items or any other.
911SCs for USA and Japan prior to model year 1980 do not use these control units.
911SC ROW versions do not use these units for any model year. 911SC ROW aftermarket conversions for the USA, no idea what they have fitted.

PS: These control units are not DMEs by the way.
