Default Advice on Front Windshield Seal

The seal on my front windshield of my 88 Carrera is leaking water at the two bottom corners. I try not to drive the car in the rain but sometimes it is unavoidable. The current seal appears to be orignal. I have already had it removed and sealed with auto sealant but it still leaks so I want to replace it with a new OEM part. Any suggestions on what brand or supplier to use. Does anyone know if Porsche still makes this part? My car is in mint condition and I am looking for the best product on the market. Thanks in advance for any help.

The OEM seal is still available and is ~$150US IIRC. You can find it through the dealer.

If you have a metal trim frame that inserts into the seal, then the P/N is: 911-541-225-03

Otherwise the P/N is: 964-541-225-00

not to split hairs .. and i agree with above ..

but you want an OE seal not an OEM ..OE is original equipment available through the dealer so get that part for sure ... especially for this part .. don't be surprised if you have some rust in the channel now.

OEM is original equipment manufacturer who is the same company who made the OE part but not necesarily to the same standards.

Good luck

Just replaced mine...was getting water inside on rainy days...ordered the seal through the dealership and had a glass guy install it ...no more leaks and no rust in the channel...good luck!

Good catch. I use the term OEM in my work everyday so it rolls off the fingers rather easily.

Yes, OE is the way to go and check the channel. If you can see some rust bubbles now, it is the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

Good luck
