Question '83 SC Engine in '84 Carrera??

Can an '83 3.0L engine from an SC be installed in an '84 Carrera without modification? This would preferrably include mating it with the G50 transmission.

Thanks!

The G50 transmission didn't come into play until 1987. The 1984 Carrera has the 915 transmission.

No expert, but I whink it would be somewhat complicated swapping out all the DME parts for the old K-Jet stuff, the fuel pump and other fuel delivery pieces are probably different.

It is also a step backwards in technology and power.
