Post Anyone ever use KYB shocks on a 911?

I bought a set (front and rear) of KYB gas shocks for my 1973 911 targa. I was wondering if anyone else has ever used this brand of shocks on a 911 before. If so, how well or poorly did they perform.

Thanks,
Scott Harris

Ive used these shocks in many applications. They do the job... much better than the stock ones for sure. Though I have no used them on a 911 I no they won't disapoint you.

Also depends on teh model of shock you got... Regular or sport.

Had em' on the back of my 73.
I think they are filled with concrete rather than oil, dampening action sucked also.....gave new meaning to the word "shocks" as they transmitted all to my butt. Sorry.....that was bout 5 years ago, maybe they have changed.

The KYB shocks I bought were the regular not sport version. I wanted to upgrade the 30 year old shocks but not kill my self on bad roads. I am replacing the rears tomorrow along with a turbo valve cover upgrade.

I tried them on my 1980 SC which is lowered and I found that they bottomed out. The answer is to take the inner rubber bump stop out and cut 1 inch or so off. But these KYB's could not be taken apart, so, I ended up with Bilstein's where it was possible to remove part of the rubber. Make sure that you have enough travel in the shocks.
