Strut brace and body brace Targa question

My '82 was a Targa. I got those braces, didn't do anything. Front strut brace, firmer motor mounts and a harness bar that tied the two seat belt upper mounts together did, however. The top, though floppy, does lend rigidity to the car as well, so suggest you leave it on while tracking. Consider how a thin plastic lid strengthens a paper cup and you'll get the idea.
