advice needed on slant nose
hello all, i am usually on the 993 forum...
i had a 95 c2 coupe, and also have a 95 c2 cab im working on at the moment, so this isnt my first porsche.
i just bought a 1970 911. it has been converted to a Widebody slant nose. i LOVE the 930 original look...so my question is, is it possible to convert the front end of the car back to a 930 style front? im okay with the rear quarters, just was wondering about what fenders i would need to get...thank you for the advice in advance!

anything is possible with enough money and determination.
I belive you would need as stated 930 fenders, headlamp assemblies, bezels, h/l washer sprayers? I don't recall them sticking that high off the front bumper on a stock 930.
Of course to make it prototypically correct you would need the correct rockers, not sure on the chin spoiler, it is not correct, but... The tail doesn't look right either, but I guess if you can live with it.

Getting it back to the 930 look is not a big job except for the removal of the rear vents. The original 930S had an oil cooler behind the pass. side and the louvers were made of wood. The 930S doesn't look right without the louvers, and a 930 doesn't look right with them (my opinion). Could be a good time to make an RSR tribute. What kind of motor is in there?

All you NEED to do to satisfy what you want is change out the fenders for some off of a standard 930. (Flare size is the same slant or not, so I'm not sure why you're mentioning wheels.) You could, theoretically, get any '74-'89 (probably -'94) standard 911 fender and weld on the turbo flares. But none of it is going to happen for $1.99.
Hey, here's a single red one that might still be available! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...bo-fender.html

You DO realize how heavy those Ruf wheels are? We used to call them five flywheel cars. I'm not sure a 2.2 could really even get the car moving..........
If it's got original suspension, you'll use a 1" spacer in front, up to 2" in back. Depending on wheel width.
This is going to be seriously compromised car, drivability wise, unless everything underbody is 100%. If all you want is a "cruiser" all will be well. Just don't expect sports car performance, let alone 911.
This car still have the pull clutch tranny? Ugh.

I just want a good weekend cruiser. No track toy out of this car. Didnt know the ruf wheels were that heavy. Maybe I'll get some 930 Fuchs wheels.
So I need the 930 fenders for the front. That should get the car ready for the Mexico blue paint

Yes, it's a 901 box, but the funky clutch release they introduced in '70 for two years. Absolutely horrible to keep adjusted, and not prematurely trash the clutch.
